Argyle's New Signing: Ronan Curtis Joins from Port Vale
Plymouth Argyle have made a significant addition to their squad, signing winger Ronan Curtis from Port Vale on a permanent deal. The 29-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract at Home Park, joining forces with former Vale striker Lorent Tolaj, who signed in the summer. This move comes as a strategic boost for Argyle, who are currently 16th in League One, just three points above the relegation zone. In contrast, Vale sit at the bottom of the division, 10 points away from safety.
Curtis' Journey to Argyle
Ronan Curtis' journey to Argyle began in the summer of 2024 when he joined Port Vale from AFC Wimbledon. He was a key player in Vale's squad, contributing to their promotion from League Two last season. During his time at Vale, Curtis made 42 league appearances and scored five goals. Before his move to Vale, Curtis had an impressive career at Derry City and Portsmouth. At Derry, he started his professional career, and later, in 2018, he moved to Portsmouth, where he won the EFL Trophy in his first season. Over five years at Fratton Park, Curtis made 226 appearances and scored 57 goals, establishing himself as a talented and consistent performer.
Argyle's Delight
Tom Cleverley, Plymouth Argyle's boss, expressed his excitement about the new signing, stating, 'We are really pleased to bring Ronan to the club. I am delighted we have been able to bring further quality into the squad so early in the window.' This move is a strategic move by Argyle to strengthen their position in League One and improve their chances of avoiding relegation.
