The theme, "Formless Form," is an intriguing concept that invites us to explore the creative process behind this elegant line. Sen Kawahara, one of the talented designers, explains it beautifully: "When we encounter breathtaking scenes, our minds often urge us to be impeccable and proper." This collection aims to capture and express that very essence in clothing.
But here's where it gets controversial: Kawahara and his team wanted to break free from the constraints of formal silhouettes. They sought to unleash their creativity and translate their reactions to these inspiring notions into unique garments.
And this is the part most people miss: the simplicity, practicality, and beauty of the fall collection. It's a refreshing take on fashion, where less is more.
Take, for instance, the "Clay" series, which features a textile with inherent elasticity, giving an organic, sculptural quality to single pieces of cloth. A black jumpsuit with spacious sleeves and trousers showcases this innovative fabric.
The color palette is another story. Yuki Itakura, another designer, reveals that the inspiration comes from the breathtaking hues of sunrises and sunsets. Each roll of fabric for the gradation wool is carefully dyed to capture these gradations.
An outerwear series takes this concept further with hand-applied gradations on the cloth. A double-breasted coat, a true masterpiece, transitions from ocean blue at the collar to gray, then to a light robin's egg blue and finally, a dusky pink.
