Costco's $22 million warehouse expansion plan is well underway, with a new location in Forney, Texas, set to open in just a few weeks. The retailer's ambitious goal of 30 warehouse openings annually is on track, despite initial projections of 35 by the end of 2026. CEO Ron Vachris confirmed that the plan remains at 30 openings per year for 2027 and beyond. This new warehouse, spanning 161,251 square feet, is a significant investment, with $18.6 million allocated for the warehouse and $3.5 million for the adjacent fuel facility, totaling over $22 million. The project is ahead of schedule, with construction expected to be completed by June 2026, just a few months from now. Costco's expansion strategy is evident, with multiple new locations in the US and Canada, including West Roseville, South St George, North Visalia, New Braunfels, and a MB Business Center in Winnipeg. Costco's membership sharing guidelines are strict, with primary cardholders, household cardholders, and authorized cardholders all having specific rules to follow. Costco has also addressed recent rumors of 24-hour closures, confirming that it will be open during normal business hours on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, as it does not observe this holiday. Additionally, a recent checkout policy change may impact shoppers' positions in line, and some are even exploring sneaky membership hacks to unlock hidden savings.
